We created Výpisník together with Andrej Branický, a priest and founder of the Vypíš sa project. We believe it will help you listen to the silence in which God speaks. But Výpisník is not only for believers – it is for everyone who finds the courage to slow down and put their thoughts on paper.

Andrej Branicky

Andrej Bránický

A priest in body and heart. Crazy about Jesus, young people and evangelisation that makes sense today too. In the parish of Námestovo, he leads not only the liturgy but also conversations that get to the heart of things. He believes that life in its fullness is not a phrase but an invitation. He loves hockey, football, good food — and even more the people God has entrusted to him.

What makes Výpisník special?

Výpisník is your quiet place where you can rest your head and your thoughts. Writing won't tell you what to do. But it lets you hear your own voice. Výpisník is a tool, not a manual. You don't need an instructor. Just paper, a pen and a moment of silence.

"For years I've been looking for a way to ease our inner selves of the burdens we carry inside."

I created Výpisník for everyone who longs to live more joyfully and freely. For everyone who wants to know themselves, others or Jesus better. I found that writing is a quiet and effective way to find order within yourself.

You don't have to write a lot. You don't have to write perfectly. A few honest lines a day are enough. Výpisník is here to accompany you on the way. And I believe it will help you.

-- Father Andrej Branický, priest

"This is a beautiful idea, can we help you with it?"

We believe that values shouldn't adapt to the times – but grow over time.

When Andrej showed us the first version of Výpisník, we said we'd gladly help him get it out to people. With respect for what he's trying to create. And for the world that is greater than us.

Like all Žurnál products, Výpisník is honestly made: from the choice of paper to the ribbon bookmark.

Carbon footprint

Even a paper exercise book has a footprint. We calculated it for the whole of 2025 and divided it per item: DEFRA 2025 emission factors, transport by parcels, services and marketing by spend (GHG Protocol). We keep refining the method together with our suppliers.

≈ 0.7 kg CO₂e per exercise book. Roughly like driving 4 km by car.

What we do about it

  • We print in Slovakia and Czechia. No air freight. Our warehouse sits next to the printer in Orava, so finished products do not travel for nothing.
  • We do not shrink-wrap diaries one by one. We use bulk packaging to cut down on plastic.
  • We ship in recycled cardboard and, when we can, in boxes our suppliers sent us goods in.
  • For trips and small transfers we book shared transport and BlaBlaCar.
  • We print to pre-orders. If something does not sell, it does not end up in the bin but in our outlet or in schools.

What you can do

  • Order more things at once. One parcel instead of three.
  • Choose a pickup point or locker instead of home delivery. So the courier does not drive out for a single parcel.
  • Buy second quality and sale items. We also work with production seconds. Everything usable is cheaper in our second quality section. You save money and rescue something that would not get a chance elsewhere.
  • Buy only what you will really use. The smallest footprint belongs to the diary that never had to be made.
